In support of our poets, the Skrews Syndication encourages unsolicited submissions at any point in time, irrespective of our yearly reading or release cycles. Our theme pertains to the dark, pain-filled facets of humanity, and we do ask this be considered prior to entry. Individual themes may be selected for an issue pertaining to current international events, but aren't required for submission or acceptance. We encourage multiple submissions and will gladly consider up to 5 entries per iteration. Response times vary from a few weeks to a few months depending on volume. We request that poets keep this time frame in mind when submitting their work to other publishers who demand exclusivity. Poets who have not received a response within 90 days can request a status for their submission(s) via email: TALK@SKRE.WS.
We currently publish poetry, short narratives, and prose, but are open to other unique works related to our broader subject or to the chosen theme of the current issue. Please send no more than five manuscripts prior to receiving a response from our editors. You can submit multiple submissions using our web form below; the addition button will provision another entry for you to fill out. We do not accept translations or work that has been previously published in print or online unless non-exclusive rights were granted. By submitting, the author is agreeing that all entered work is their own. To read the full Poet's agreement, please click here.
Our poets are an important asset to the success of this publication and subsequently, we are proud to offer cost-free readings on all submissions. We feel we can best support this community by removing the lowest barrier for entry, and we will foster this belief for the lifetime of this publication. If you prefer to mail in a printed manuscript, we do accept postal submissions addressed to:
* Please note, we respond to all submissions electronically. Postal mail applicants should be sure to include an email address with their submission.
* For Cover Art Guidelines, please have digital file resolutions meet the criteria of 2560 by 1600 pixels or larger. Digital stores require the ratio of 1.6 in height to 1 in width; so for every 1600 pixels in height, have 1000 pixels in width. When producing non-digital art, use this 1.6 to 1 ratio and keep your orientation vertical, where the height is larger than the width.
